Job Overview

SII Group UK is seeking a highly skilled Software Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our spacecraft systems development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software systems that ensure seamless integration and functionality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Software Development: Develop and establish interfaces for data management systems, ensuring high performance and reliability in spacecraft operations.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with system engineers to ensure seamless integration and functionality, and to optimize interfaces for performance and reliability.
  • Documentation: Create comprehensive software documentation for data access procedures, and develop detailed step-by-step guides to facilitate user understanding and implementation.
  • Verification: Verify the correctness and integrity of data used in spacecraft system engineering, and ensure accurate data processing within the Functional Avionics group.
  • System Configuration: Perform system configurations, utilizing system engineering skills to optimize performance and accuracy.
Required Skills and Experience
  • System Engineering Principles: Strong understanding of system engineering principles and practices, including experience in spacecraft system engineering and data management.
  • Software Development: Ability to design, process, and simulate information for software interaction, with experience in creating and managing software documentation.
  • Technical Skills: Expertise in data handling protocols (e.g., 1553, CANbus, CCSDS, Packet Utilisation Standards), and skills in configuring system engineering tasks within functional avionics.
  • Security Clearance: Must have lived in the UK for 5 years to gain security clearance.
Desirable Skills
  • Programming Languages: Experience with IntelliJ, Java (Object-Oriented coding), and GitLab.
  • Project Management: Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence.
