Publica is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Environmental Health Officer to join our dynamic team specializing in Housing and Public Health. This role offers an exceptional opportunity for a driven individual with a passion for environmental protection and public well-being.

As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and safety of residents within West Oxfordshire, Cotswold, and Forest of Dean Districts. You will lead and provide expert guidance in various areas of Environmental Health, including:

  • Private Sector Housing: Ensuring compliance with housing regulations and promoting safe and habitable living conditions.
  • Nuisance/Anti-Social Behaviour: Addressing complaints related to noise, pollution, and other disturbances that impact the quality of life for residents.
  • Public Health: Implementing programs and initiatives to protect public health and prevent the spread of disease.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections and investigations to identify potential hazards and violations.

  • Develop and implement programs and initiatives to promote public health and safety.
  • Collaborate with other agencies and organizations to address complex environmental health challenges.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A relevant degree or equivalent experience in Environmental Health, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Post-graduate qualifications or certifications in environmental health are highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in conducting inspections, investigations, and enforcement actions.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
