Kennford Playbox is a rural early years preschool, located in a picturesque setting, providing a nurturing environment for 2-4 year olds. As a registered charity, we are committed to delivering high-quality education and care, overseen by a dedicated parent-led committee.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Preschool Manager to lead our team and ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality care and education. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the setting, including staff management, planning activities, and maintaining the highest standards in education and childcare.

Key Responsibilities
  • Day-to-day management of the preschool
  • Planning and implementing activities, resources, and staff rotas
  • Staff management, including recruitment, induction, supervision, and appraisal
  • Parent/carer liaison and communication
  • Continuous monitoring of quality, standards, risk, safeguarding, and inclusive practice
  • Updating parents/carers on their child's progress and behaviour
  • Managing enrolment, payment, and government funding
  • Developing and implementing an age-appropriate timetable of annual events and activities
  • Monitoring and maintaining the nursery budget
Requirements
  • A minimum full and relevant Level 3 qualification in early years and childcare
  • At least two years' recent experience within a nursery or preschool setting
  • Previous experience in management and a working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • A commitment to obtaining a Level 4 qualification in early years and childcare
  • Excellent communication and motivating skills
  • A good understanding of Ofsted requirements and procedures
