Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to join our team on a temporary basis. As a Deputy Nursery Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring high-quality care and education for children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Nursery Manager: Assist the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring high standards of care and education are maintained. Lead by example, inspiring and motivating the staff team.
  • Implement the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework: Oversee the implementation of the EYFS framework, ensuring that educational activities meet developmental needs and are delivered effectively. Conduct regular assessments and maintain records of children's progress.
  • Staff Development and Support: Provide guidance, support, and training to nursery staff, fostering a positive, collaborative working environment. Assist with staff appraisals and performance management.
  • Parent and Carer Relationships: Build strong, trusting relationships with parents and caregivers, ensuring open communication and providing updates on their child's development.
  • Safeguarding and Compliance: Ensure that all policies and safeguarding procedures are adhered to, maintaining a safe environment for children, staff, and visitors.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Childcare.
  • Experience: Proven experience of a supervisory role within an early years setting.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and early years education best practices. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.
  • Commitment to Safeguarding: A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
