Position Overview

Southern Housing is seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to take on the role of Senior Care and Support Worker. This position is integral to our team of care professionals who provide essential support at our extra care facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Registered Manager in overseeing staff performance, including conducting supervision, appraisals, and managing attendance.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and service agreements to maintain high-quality care.
  • Facilitate resident engagement and promote social activities within the community.
  • Support the assessment process for potential new residents as needed.
  • Deliver personalized care in accordance with individual care plans, including personal care tasks.
  • Champion the principles of independence, choice, and community inclusion for all residents.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Possess a relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) or be actively pursuing this qualification.
  • Hold a Basic First Aid certification.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of health and safety regulations applicable to the role.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage responsibilities.
  • Basic IT proficiency and a calm demeanor in emergency situations.
