Job Title: Community Occupational Therapist

Join our team as a Community Occupational Therapist and play a vital role in preventing falls and improving the lives of our clients.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our Falls Prevention Service. As a Community Occupational Therapist, you will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive assessments, treatments, and evidence-based rehabilitation programs to clients who have fallen or are at risk of falling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients to identify risk factors and develop personalized rehabilitation plans.
  • Deliver evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to clients in their homes, community centers, and other settings.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including GPs, District Nurses, and Social Services, to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Supervise and support junior staff, Rehabilitation Assistants, and Occupational Therapy students to ensure high-quality care.
  • Prescribe equipment and provide education and training to clients and their families to promote independence and safety.
Person Specification

We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist with a strong background in falls prevention and management. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field or equivalent combination of degree, short courses, and experience.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) relevant to the treatment of people with physical disabilities and those at risk of falls.
