The Role

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our Machine Shop team at M-Sport UK. As a key member of our technical team, you will be responsible for creating bespoke parts for high-performance vehicles and completing projects to precise customer specifications.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Operating 3 and 5 axis CNC Machining Centres and Lathes
  • Writing and proving programs using HyperMill, Fanuc and Heidenhain controls
  • Maintaining and controlling a current tool inventory
  • Checking and maintaining lubricants and coolant levels
  • Operating manual milling machines, lathes, grinders, and hand drills
  • Working with jigs and fixtures
  • Machining parts to our specifications, recording contract documentation, completing time sheets correctly and maintaining a high standard of workmanship
  • Ensuring parts proceed to the next process with correct labelling procedures
  • Cleaning machines as appropriate
Requirements

We are looking for a self-motivated team player with a positive and enthusiastic attitude. You should be educated to a Level 3 standard or equivalent qualification in Machining, with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a Machine Workshop.

You should have a good knowledge and understanding of engineering principles, with an ability to read engineering drawings and inspect your own work on both small and large batches using various materials to tight tolerances.

You should pride yourself on your attention to detail and be capable of delivering a high standard of performance and quality while working to strict deadlines in a time-sensitive environment.

You should be confident programming CNC machines with previous experience in a similar environment as a CNC Operator.

You should have strong communication skills and be well-organised with the ability to fit into a small team.

You should have good computer skills and be familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite as well as confident learning and using new computer-based platforms.
