About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Histology Associate Practitioner in the Cellular Pathology department at the Royal Stoke University Hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory duties required in the analysis of histological and diagnostic cytology clinical specimens.
  • Work as part of a large team, providing support to Biomedical Scientists and Histopathologists within the department.
  • Rotate through all sections of our Histology and Diagnostic Cytology laboratories.
  • Undertake data input and extract, specimen handling and processing, section cutting and routine and specialist staining.
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 in Clinical Laboratory Support or equivalent.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft computer packages (Word and Excel) and experience of data input, extract and manipulation.
  • Basic knowledge of Health and Safety, confidentiality and data quality.
  • Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team.
