About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Licensing Manager to join our team at Aardman Animations, Ltd. as a key member of our global licensing and consumer products programme.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the global licensing and consumer products programme in Asia, including Japan, South Korea, and China, to drive category and territory growth in-line with the licensing and consumer products strategy set by Aardman.
  • Approve deal memos and oversee deals from contract to delivery, supporting agents and licensees at each stage.
  • Ensure that licenses, partners, and agents have all the relevant information they need to secure, manage, and execute deals, including brand decks, case studies, sales materials, creative assets, and design collateral.
  • Drive direct deals, including interactive games and publishing, by prospecting potential partners, negotiating terms, and closing deals.
  • Contribute to strategic plans for the growth of Aardman's licensing business in your markets and undertake travel to such markets and participate in relevant licensing trade fairs as required.
Requirements
  • Experience of managing licensing and consumer product programmes, ideally for character brands, either in Asia or internationally, and ideally in the UK.
  • Previous experience of managing agents and understanding of how they operate and how to drive their performance.
  • Good understanding of the entire licensing process, including negotiating and contracting deals, financial forecasting, production approvals, and financial reporting.
  • Experience of UK or international retail and supporting partners at sell-in or creating and executing DTR strategies.
  • Good people skills and ability to line-manage the Licensing Manager, supporting them on day-to-day business and sharing knowledge and expertise to support their development.
