We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Koch Engineered Solutions. As a Mechanical Pipe Stress Engineer, you will be responsible for the mechanical design of packaged equipment piping systems.
Key Responsibilities- Perform piping stress analysis for process packages and coordinate with design disciplines to ensure timely submission of design deliverables.
- Prepare design inputs for mechanical designers and review/approve mechanical engineering deliverables, including general arrangement and detail drawings.
- Ensure equipment design meets necessary design codes and standards, project specifications, and good engineering practices.
- Resolve design issues with project stakeholders, including clients, procurement, QC, and suppliers.
- Handle customer comments and technical clarifications, and interface with clients for design issues until resolution.
- Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and quality assurance activities.
- Strong adherence to safety protocols and demonstrated safe work habits.
- Experience as a Mechanical Engineer for complex mechanical systems or packages, including piping.
- Experience in preparation/review of calculation notes and reports.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering on time, within budget, with quality and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Well-organized and able to work independently.
- Fluent in English language and strong report writing skills.
- Mechanical Engineering degree with experience in packages with piping.
- Experience in the oil & gas and/or Chemicals/Petrochemicals industry.
- Good knowledge of Caesar or equivalent.
- Knowledge of GRP piping design.
- Knowledge of welding techniques and related documentation.
- Experience in pressure vessels and skid structures would be an advantage.
- Experienced with connection design software (Limcon or equivalent).
- Experienced working with StaadPro and/or equivalent structural design software would be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of Compress or PV Elite or equivalent would be an advantage.
