Job Description

**Role Purpose:**

This is a new product testing role within the company, focusing on managing and executing the full lifecycle of test engineering. The ideal candidate will have a broad spread of engineering knowledge, imagination, and drive.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Analyse conformance specifications to derive test requirements
  2. Plan, design, and communicate test cases that validate requirements across a broad spread of electro-mechanical systems for both the development and production lifecycle phases
  3. Design test jigs, harnesses, and software to allow execution of test cases, including automation where necessary
  4. Implement data processing/filtering software in various packages to extract relevant results
  5. Manage internal test facilities, including test tanks, ovens, pools, and lifting equipment
  6. Liaise with external test facilities, such as EMC, vibration, and pools
  7. Execute tests in a clear, safe, and controlled manner
  8. Fault finding and failure analysis
  9. Documentation and presentation of results and findings

Minimum Requirements:

  1. HNC or Degree in a relevant engineering discipline
  2. Minimum 3 years in a test-focused role or within test equipment development
  3. Proven experience in data capture and analysis
  4. Proven experience working on multi-disciplinary systems (electrical, mechanical, software)
  5. Experience working within an engineering NPI environment
  6. Excellent knowledge of test equipment and platforms
  7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  8. Exposure to NPI design phases, working to Design/Systems requirements
  9. Able to generate test cases from requirements to verify/validate designs
  10. Experience with National Instruments test software platforms and ability to create test software test functions within the National Instruments environment
  11. Experience with control of National Instruments hardware and proprietary test equipment
  12. Hands-on experience with electronic circuit construction/testing/diagnostics
  13. Innovative and creative mindset with sound engineering principles
  14. Ability to work unsupervised to tight timescales
  15. Knowledge of product certification, best-practice, and industry standards
  16. Enthusiasm, drive, and personality
  17. Create high-quality test reports
  18. Data capture - logging
  19. Experience in the offshore and/or subsea industry
  20. Experience working within a Production Test facility
  21. Knowledge/experience in the creation of test executives within NI LabView/TestStand Software
  22. Software programming/scripts (Python, C, C#, C++, VB, etc)
  23. Specification/build/commissioning/support of test equipment
  24. Understanding of Mechanical principles and working knowledge of applications
  25. Knowledge of compliance standards and certification (CE/DNV)
  26. Previous experience in a customer-facing role
