About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner to lead our Children's theatre and recovery team. The successful candidate will have excellent leadership skills and experience in scrub or recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all staff work within the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and HPC Professional Guidelines.
  • Provide management and clinical input across Theatres, using a problem-solving approach to resolve or prevent operational incidents.
  • Work with the stores team on stock management initiatives.
  • Actively manage sickness and absence in accordance with Trust and Directorate policies.
  • Conduct annual staff appraisal and personal development programmes.
  • Utilise clinical expertise and academic knowledge to act as a resource for members of the team and other healthcare professionals.
  • Responsible for the clinical supervision of junior nursing staff and act as an exemplary role model.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and ensure risk assessments are performed when required.
  • Proactive management of infection control and environmental cleanliness.
  • Facilitate and develop creative new ways of working to improve service delivery.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse/ODP with current NMC/HPC PIN number.
  • Completion of recognised management programme or equivalent demonstrable experience.
