Key Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated mentorship and support to individual students or small groups of up to five.
- Assist the Classroom Teacher during instructional periods.
- Monitor and report on student progress and concerns, collaborating with other staff to address student needs.
- Supervise students during non-classroom activities, including extracurricular events and outings.
- Help with lesson planning and classroom organization.
- Assign tasks as appropriate and evaluate student work.
- Foster positive relationships with students to enhance engagement and learning outcomes.
Qualifications
- Strong educational background, ideally to A-level, with at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics, along with proficient IT skills.
- Prior experience in a similar capacity, such as Educational Support Assistant.
- Experience working with students with social, emotional, and mental health needs in an educational context.
- Ability to lead in a specific area of expertise, such as Reading, Mathematics, or Outdoor Education.
- Knowledge of behavior management strategies.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to learn.
- Willingness to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check prior to starting work, with costs covered by ISP.
