Role Overview

The University of Sussex is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead its estate and asset management efforts. As the Head of Asset and Space Management, you will play a critical role in ensuring that the University's estate is utilized to its fullest potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a robust estate management plan that aligns with the University's strategic objectives.
  • Lead the development of space optimization strategies to maximize the use of existing assets.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize estate improvement projects.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including senior management, faculty, and staff.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in strategic estate and asset planning, preferably in a higher education or similar setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to set standards and policy with senior stakeholders and team members.
  • Focus on outcomes that represent success for the University and its estates users.
