Pharmacist (Weekends Only) - Clinical Services Lead

The Clinical Pharmacy Service at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is highly respected and our staff work closely with multi-disciplinary teams. We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated pharmacist to join our team as the principal pharmacist for clinical services covering a fixed term position for up to 12 months.
The successful applicant will be an integral member of the clinical pharmacy team, working closely with Deputy Chief and Associate Chief Pharmacists for Clinical Services to develop and provide high quality pharmaceutical care across the Trust with opportunities to work with senior colleagues to improve patient care.
Main Duties of the Job- Leading and managing the clinical services team at the Denmark Hill Site
- To deputise for the Associate Chief Pharmacist and work closely with the Deputy Chief Pharmacist for Clinical Services
- Providing a clinical commitment and acting as a role model to manage the pharmaceutical care of patients
- To support in the operational running of the clinical service including the management of both weekday and weekend rotas
- To deliver induction and training to clinical pharmacy staff in relation to approved clinical pharmacy policies and procedures
- Acting as a specialist role model and as an expert in a clinical field
- Ensuring a high level of clinical input across the pharmacy service.
- Development and implementation of guidelines and policies for the use of medicines.
- Developing the clinical pharmacy service.
- Teaching and training within the Trust and externally
- Identifying and promoting best practice
- Leading and completing Trust medicines management or pharmacy clinical services audit, benchmarking and self-assessment tools and quality improvement projects
- To support the on-call pharmacy service.
- To act as the Lead pharmacist for Radiology and Occupational Health and support in directorate work.
- Registered Pharmacist MRPharmS (1 year competency assessed and examined professional registration)
- Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or Pharmacy Practice
- Registered independent prescriber or willingness to complete
- Expert clinical knowledge and skills relevant to area of practice
- Demonstrate high organisational skills - identifying, planning, organising and developing systems to improve service delivery
- Experience of supervising others, including for research and audit projects
- Experience of protocol/guideline development
- Ability to work well under pressure by prioritising and managing time effectively
- Ability to identify and manage risks
- Ability to implement and manage change
- Ability to motivate self and others
- Able to identify a vision for the delivery of pharmaceutical services to the Care Group
- Demonstrates an advanced level of clinical reasoning and judgement
- Understands local and national priorities
- Demonstrates an awareness and commitment to the clinical governance agenda
- Experience of managing others
- Experience of working with senior healthcare professionals outside of pharmacy
- Demonstration of advanced practice using evidence mapped to the RPS Advanced Practice Framework
