Job Title: Principal Electrical Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Omega Resource Group. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering complex electrical design projects for power generation and transmission systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electrical protection and control systems for transmission networks.
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers to support their growth and development.
  • Optimize delivery processes to ensure efficient project delivery and compliance with industry standards.
  • Provide technical input for sales, proposals, and operations departments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality solutions.
Requirements:
  • Application of protection systems on National Grid transmission network.
  • Experience of National Grid delivery and specifications/standards.
  • NG CDAE qualification.
  • TP141 Settings beneficial but not essential.
  • Good understanding of design process covering Detailed design (Circuit diagrams / Interface diagrams / cubicle design / settings / testing FAT).
  • Experience with industry-standard software tools for design, simulation, and test.
  • Experience dealing with NG as direct customer and/or EPC customers providing protection solutions for brown field extensions or green field build.
  • Good communication skills to allow efficient co-ordination between the team / function groups and the customer.
  • A minimum qualification of HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering plus extensive experience in the Electricity Transmission and Distribution Industry.
