Job Title: Principal Electrical Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at RED Engineering Design in London. As a key member of our electrical design team, you will be responsible for leading the design and delivery of electrical engineering projects, working closely with clients and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and delivery of electrical engineering projects, including the development of technical specifications, designs, and calculations.
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver solutions that meet their needs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Manage and mentor junior engineers to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to deliver high-quality projects.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure our designs meet the highest standards.
Requirements:
  • BSc/BEng or degree in an appropriate engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
  • MCIBSE/MIEE or HNC/HND plus appropriate experience or equivalent.
  • Working towards Chartered Engineer status.
  • Significant experience of specification design for several building types.
  • Sound knowledge of key Health and Safety issues and legislation.
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to use IT-based calculation and spreadsheet software.
  • Good understanding of BS standards, UK Regulations, and Codes.
  • Ability to prioritize own workload and work to deadlines.
  • Managerial skills, including leadership, communication, and problem-solving.
  • Presentation skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
