As a Lead Financial Project Manager at Paul Mitchell Associates, you will collaborate with the management accounts team to address and resolve discrepancies within management accounts. Your role will encompass the following responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
1. **Financial Systems Design and Review:**
- Analyze and enhance all financial systems, practices, and policies to ensure optimal efficiency and effectiveness.
2. **Internal Financial Controls:**
- Assist the Financial Controller in verifying that internal financial controls are appropriate, enforced, monitored, and improved as necessary.
3. **Governance and Compliance:**
- Implement governance and controls across all financial systems and processes.
4. **Management Reporting:**
- Investigate inconsistencies in management reporting by scrutinizing financial documents and transactions, assessing their impact on posting entries, and identifying areas for process improvement or system updates.
5. **Manual Journal Entries:**
- Review the implications of posting manual journals on reporting, collaborating with the systems team to automate processes to minimize inconsistencies.
6. **Reconciliation Management:**
- Maintain a log of manual entries requiring reconciliation to ensure the integrity of all ledgers.
7. **Credit Memos Oversight:**
- Evaluate the use and treatment of credit memos within the system, understanding the posting protocols and managing the effects of credits and debits.
8. **Inventory and Accrual Management:**
- Oversee inventory valuation, journal entry reconciliation, and investigate accruals to resolve data discrepancies prior to system fixes.
9. **Process Streamlining:**
- Design and refine month-end processes in Business Central Finance, ensuring alignment and system checks for timely closure of activities.
10. **Reporting and Visibility:**
- Create comprehensive reporting and visibility controls for order management and invoicing, ensuring thoroughness and reliability.
11. **Dimension Reporting Management:**
- Monitor and manage dimension reporting to highlight data issues for the systems team.
Qualifications:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
- Proficient data interrogation skills and advanced Excel capabilities.
Desirable Skills:
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Business Central.
