Job Title: Head of Publications

Key Responsibilities
  • Cultivate and Maintain Relationships: Foster strong relationships with various business units to manage a diverse project portfolio, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
  • Develop Content Plans: Create clear content plans, timelines, budgets, resources, and deliverables for all projects, ensuring timely and high-quality content delivery.
  • Ensure Project Delivery: Oversee the timely delivery of projects while maintaining high-quality content standards and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Lead Technical Authors: Act as the primary contact for new technical content requests and enhancements, leading a team of technical authors and promoting a collaborative hybrid working environment.
  • Content Management: Create and maintain content writing processes, publishing them on the company's Business Management System, and drive adherence to industry standards through certification.
  • Innovative Content Delivery: Explore innovative digital content delivery methods, such as embedded help content, video, and augmented reality, to enhance the user experience.
  • Team Development: Identify skill gaps within the team and develop training and recruitment strategies to ensure the team's growth and development.
  • Content Management System: Establish a modular content management system with robust version control, integrating it with existing PLM systems, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to information provision, export control, and health & safety.
  • Cost Management: Oversee internal and external cost drivers, including licensing and third-party content suppliers, to ensure effective cost management.
Requirements
  • Education: A degree in engineering or a technical discipline where English is the native language, or a qualification in English language or literature with a demonstrable technical portfolio.
  • Professional Skills: Strong experience with MadCap Flare or similar desktop publishing software, excellent team leadership, performance monitoring, and coaching skills, strong planning, budgeting, and resource management skills, and project management experience.
  • Personal Qualities: Highly self-motivated with a keen eye for detail.
