About the roleThe Lead Supply Chain Planner is accountable for ensuring effective operational methods and protocols within the planning division. Key responsibilities encompass evaluating team performance, refining processes, mentoring and guiding team members, addressing critical issues, and generating KPI reports. The Lead Planner also collaborates with various departments, enhances production capacity, oversees product availability, and engages in cross-functional initiatives.
What will I be doing?- Accountable for effective operational methods and protocols.
- Evaluates team performance, refines processes, instructs, and mentors.
- Addresses critical issues as they arise.
- Generates KPI reports (Daily tracker, OTIF, Inventory).
- Leads the planning team towards achieving service excellence.
- Assists the Supply Planner in establishing the appropriate MTS/MTO strategy and ensuring correct safety stock levels.
- Identifies challenges, prioritizes tasks, and coordinates with scheduling, material procurement, logistics, and customer service.
- Prepares summaries regarding actual orders and production orders.
- Proposes and formulates concrete plans to optimize production capacity.
- Monitors and manages product availability in the medium to long term.
- Supports communication with internal and external customers as needed.
- Collaborates with the demand planning team to enhance forecast accuracy and ensures smooth forecast flow with external sites.
- Collects, organizes, and analyzes orders, production, and supply data.
- Informs production teams about the capacity plan.
- Coordinates orders between customer service and production, including optimizing delivery timelines.
- Works with the Logistics Manager to ensure timely deliveries and address warehouse space/workload issues.
- Prepares various summaries and provides explanations.
- Analyzes and clarifies deviations.
- Develops and optimizes planning processes and parameters.
- Establishes planning parameters for new products.
- Participates in bi-weekly NPI meetings.
- Engages in cross-functional projects.
- Extensive professional experience in planning, preferably within the Food and Beverage sector.
- Previous experience in managing teams is preferred.
- Business Degree or CIPS/Part Qualified.
- Experience with SAP or other ERP systems related to capacity planning is preferred.
- Strong communication skills.
- Excellent analytical capabilities are essential.
- This role will report to the Supply Chain Manager and will have direct reports.
- This individual will need to collaborate closely with Production and other functions to ensure KPI targets are met.
