Job Title: Teaching Assistant - SEND Support

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support children with Special Educational Needs in a Primary School setting.

About the Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a supportive and inclusive team, working alongside teachers to provide outstanding support for teaching and learning. As a Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for collaborating with the class teacher to provide individualized support to children with SEND, participating in educational trips, and assisting in assessment and documentation of learning progress.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the class teacher to provide individualized support to children with SEND.
  • Participate in educational trips and activities with student groups.
  • Assist in assessment and documentation of learning progress.
  • Work alongside teachers to create engaging classroom displays and learning materials.
  • Maintain a safe and positive environment for all children.
  • Create opportunities for all children to reach their full potential, regardless of their abilities.
  • Support children with special educational needs, using your initiative and remaining calm in challenging situations.
Requirements:
  • A relevant qualification in supporting teaching and learning in schools.
  • A genuine passion for working with young people who require additional support to access education and develop socially.
  • Ideal experience in supporting children with SEND, particularly in ASD/SEMH interventions.
  • Proactive and positive, always striving to meet children's learning needs.
  • The ability to build strong rapport with children.
  • Dedication to the happiness, well-being, self-esteem, and progress of every member of our school community.
