An exciting opportunity has arisen within one of the UK's leading Independent Software Organizations, recognized as a significant contributor to the Innovative Development of Enterprise-Led Internet Solutions.

They are currently seeking a Software Security Specialist to join their established and high-performing In-House Security Team comprising 35 Professionals , including SOC & Cyber Analysts, Experienced Cyber Security Engineers, and Security Architects.

As a Security Specialist , your focus will be on the technical aspects of IT Security, particularly in Application Security & Code Analysis, ensuring that their Applications are Developed Securely.

The Information & Cyber Security Team is responsible for the Security of Closed-Sourced, Open-Source & In-House Developed Applications, ensuring that all Systems & Services are Designed with Privacy & Security in Mind.

You will collaborate closely with the Software Development Team to ensure that Application-Based Vulnerabilities are Identified & Mitigated, which necessitates strong Code Reading Skills.

Required Skills & Experience for the Software Security Specialist role:

  • Practical Experience with Security Assessment Tools & Techniques, including Penetration Testing & Code Review.
  • Utilization of Structured Methodologies for Conducting & Reporting on Web Application Penetration Testing.
  • Understanding & Proven Experience with Automated, Dynamic & Static Application Security Testing Tools, as well as Manual Security Testing to identify Vulnerabilities & Logical Flaws.
  • Comprehensive Understanding of SDLC & Technology Functions and their relation to Information Security.
  • Familiarity with Industry Standard Information Security Practices.
  • Ideally, Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) Certification (or similar is Preferred but Not Mandatory).
  • Excellent Communication Skills & Strong Attention to Detail.

Key Responsibilities of the Software Security Specialist will include:

  • Conducting Thorough Security Vulnerability Analysis & Assessments of Software Applications & Providing Actionable Recommendations for Remediation.
  • Supporting the Project Process to ensure that Information Security considerations are integrated from the outset and throughout the Project Lifecycle.
  • Taking Ownership of the Security of Tested Products within the Project Context.
  • Performing Manual & Automated Source Code Reviews.
  • Contributing to & Utilizing Security Testing Methodologies, Creating & Updating Technical Documentation as necessary.
  • Collaborating with the Software Development Department to ensure Security is prioritized throughout the SDLC.
  • Identifying any Security Concerns within the Organization's Software and Managing them through Coordination with External Stakeholders as needed.
