About the Role:
Wiltshire College & University Centre is offering a remarkable opportunity for a dedicated Bursary and Student Funding Officer. This role is essential for guiding students through the financial aspects of their educational experience.
Location: Trowbridge, Wiltshire
Salary: £11,412 rising to £11,651 per annum (Full time equivalent £22,824 - £23,302 per annum, Professional Services Grade 4 & 4a)
Job Type: Permanent, Part Time 18.5 hours per week/52 weeks per year (9am to 12.45pm Monday to Thursday and 9am-12:30pm on a Friday)
Key Responsibilities:
- Advisory Role: Offer expert advice and support to both prospective and current students, as well as their families, regarding tuition fees, bursaries, and travel options. You will serve as a vital resource, providing clear and comprehensive guidance through various communication methods.
- Collaboration and Coordination: Partner with external organizations and college personnel to facilitate and manage the financial assistance process for students. Your effective communication skills will ensure that students receive optimal support.
- Record Management: Keep accurate and thorough records for all students, ensuring that all documentation is current, precise, and readily accessible.
- Customer Service Excellence: Maintain a high standard of customer service, ensuring that every interaction with students and their families is positive, supportive, and efficient.
Candidate Profile:
To succeed in this position, you should possess:
- Educational Qualifications: GCSE Maths and English at level 2 or above. A level 3 qualification is preferred or a willingness to pursue one.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, with the capacity to convey financial information in a clear and approachable manner.
- Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail and the capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, ensuring meticulous maintenance of student records.
- Empathy and Support: A genuine interest in student welfare, with the ability to provide compassionate and informed advice to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Team Player: The ability to collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless support for our students.
