London, Greater London, United Kingdom Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency Full time

Position Overview

We are seeking two Senior Digital Change Specialists to join our Digital and Technology Group (DTG).

These are full-time positions, offered on a permanent basis. Please note that these roles are exclusively available for candidates located in the UK. Our current operational model supports a hybrid working environment, requiring a minimum of 40% of contracted hours to be performed on-site to facilitate collaboration and interaction with partners and stakeholders essential for delivering our mission. This on-site requirement may increase to 60% as business needs evolve.

About Us

If you have received a COVID-19 vaccine or have utilized a medical product, you have interacted with the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency. Our vision, One Agency - Delivering for Patients, drives our commitment to becoming a leading regulator that safeguards public health through exceptional regulation and scientific integrity. The Agency plays a crucial role in enhancing the health of millions through the effective oversight of medicines and medical devices, supported by rigorous scientific research.

The Digital and Technology Group (DTG) is pivotal to our operations, tasked with optimizing IT infrastructure and maximizing secure data utilization to empower our scientists, inspectors, and the broader organization in delivering top-tier services that enhance patient outcomes. Our contributions were vital during the expedited approval of COVID-19 vaccines in 2020 and in establishing the UK’s independent medicines and devices approval systems post-EU exit. The work we undertake is impactful.

The Digital & Service Design Group offers a range of services through a practice-based model, including user research, service design, business analysis, change management, and product management. This group is dedicated to enhancing customer experience and is focused on developing in-house capabilities in Digital Product Management and User-Centered Design.

Role Responsibilities

This prominent role involves direct collaboration with the business to manage the Agency’s digital change initiatives across our portfolio, programs, and projects.

The Senior Digital Change Specialist will provide effective leadership in business change management for digital initiatives, proactively preparing the organization for the impacts of digital transformations.

This position serves as a liaison between digital projects and business users, ensuring that activities are strategically planned and executed to facilitate the implementation of agreed digital changes and to realize associated benefits.

You will spearhead the development of change management strategies and plans for designated projects and programs. This may encompass the creation of training strategies and overseeing the establishment and management of business readiness criteria across delivery frameworks.

Your role will also involve significant engagement and communication efforts, collaborating with the Communications Team to devise and implement plans, content, and events that ensure timely and accurate information is disseminated to staff and stakeholders regarding changes.

Additionally, you will contribute change management expertise and subject matter knowledge in design workshops, assisting digital delivery teams in enhancing organizational understanding, service offerings, and operational methodologies.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in change management, particularly in delivering digital transformations that provide value to clients. You should demonstrate the ability to foresee the comprehensive effects of digital changes on organizational culture, structure, and morale, as well as on the diverse needs of end users, including considerations for accessibility. You must be adept at identifying early indicators of potential issues and responding effectively.

Extensive experience in delivering change initiatives is essential, along with the capability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, effectively delegating tasks where appropriate, and contributing strategic insights.

A history of developing change management practices and ensuring the consistent application of best practice models and methodologies is required.

You should exhibit a strong understanding of the complexities and diversity of customer needs and expectations, alongside the ability to assess the full impact of change on culture, structure, and morale, while exercising discretion and autonomy in establishing your work plans and methodologies.
