Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team in Adult Rehabilitation Psychiatry. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake comprehensive assessments of referrals and admissions to the service, diagnosing and formulating management plans for complex presentations.
  • Provide expert management in treatment-resistant and complex cases, including assessment and management of risk.
  • Prepare and present reports for Mental Health Review Tribunal and Managers Hearings, and attend subsequent hearings as required.
  • Work collaboratively with psychiatrists from partner providers, including Forensic and Rehabilitation Psychiatrists.
  • Lead clinical decision-making in the multidisciplinary team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and developing service clinical priorities in line with national and professional guidance.
  • Engage with service transformation programmes, attending consultant meetings for their service and directorate.
  • Provide clinical supervision for trainees, supporting them in gaining core psychiatric experience and achieving competencies in core general psychiatry.
