Project Overview

In the role of Entry-Level Quantity Surveyor, you will support the Quantity Surveying team on various civil engineering initiatives. This position is based in Northampton.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

- Valid Driving License
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline

Additionally, the ideal candidate should demonstrate the following skills and experience:

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with NEC 3 or NEC 4 Contracts
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Experience in financial and commercial project management
- Some background in an assistant, graduate, or junior Quantity Surveyor role within civil engineering projects
- Desirable experience in Streetworks, Highways, Groundworks, etc.

Role Responsibilities

- Procurement management
- Assisting in the pricing of variations
- Analyzing tender allowances
- Preparing material reconciliations
- Providing insights on contractual matters
- Managing cash flow and maximization
- Overseeing the procurement of subcontractors
- Preparing and submitting material delivery documentation
- Demonstrating strong communication, sales, and presentation skills
- Assisting in the creation of monthly project cost and progress reports
- Maintaining productive relationships with existing clients
- Collaborating with relevant departments to develop accurate and consistent bids
- Preparing and administering procurement advice, tenders, and tender reviews
- Ensuring deadlines are managed effectively and progress is communicated to supervisors
- Working with project teams to ensure understanding of profitable and commercial aspects
- Assisting in the preparation of effective change control during both pre-contract and post-contract phases
- Aiding in the development of commercial relationships with clients, partners, and the supply chain, fostering respectful and productive connections.
