Senior Control Design Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Control Design Engineer to join our team at Omega Resource Group. As a Senior Control Design Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the control scheme team and providing technical support to new colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical leadership of the control scheme team, providing training and support to new colleagues.
  • Production and checking of functional design specifications and design intent documents.
  • Development and design of schematics for control systems.
  • Liaison with internal and external design engineers to provide complete solutions.
  • Ensuring compliance with customer technical specifications on allocated projects.
  • Providing technical input for pre-sales activities.
  • Responsible for technical issues and support on allocated projects.
  • Attending internal and external design reviews, providing technical input.

Requirements

  • Experience of National Grid delivery and/or Control/Automation background.
  • A minimum qualification of HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering and/or experience in the Electricity Transmission and Distribution Industry.
  • Experience in a similar role involving scheme design of medium to large scale SCADA systems, control systems, automation systems, and communication infrastructure.
  • Good understanding of circuit diagrams/wiring diagrams and general arrangement drawings on control and protection systems.
  • Desire to technically lead the Control Scheme team and develop new design engineers for the expanding team.
