About the Role

We are seeking two Consultant Physicians with a special interest in Stroke Medicine to join our team at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Physician in Stroke Care, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and leading on clinical service developments to improve the quality of care for our patients.

Main Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support junior/middle-grade medical staff in their professional development.
  • Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in Stroke Thrombolysis on-call rota and manage Stroke patients on a post-acute rehabilitation ward.
  • Contribute to the delivery of a TIA service, aiming to see TIA patients within 24 hours of referral.

Requirements

  • Completed Specialist Training in General Medicine and Geriatrics, and/or subspecialty training in Stroke Medicine.
  • On the Specialist Register of the GMC or have a CCT date within six months of the interview.
  • Minimum 12 months' experience in Stroke Medicine.
