Health and Safety Manager

Employment Solutions is seeking an experienced Health Safety Manager to join our team in Wigan. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of our employees and the environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Implement and manage ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 systems to ensure ongoing compliance and effectiveness.
- Lead accident and incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Keep up to date with legislation and industry best practices, ensuring site compliance through regular checks and updates.
- Organize and manage HSE training programs for site personnel, covering areas such as confined space entry, hazard communication, emergency response, and more.
- Oversee site safety protocols, including signage, access procedures, and staff induction to maintain a safe working environment.
- Coordinate and lead site safety committee activities, driving continuous improvement and ensuring effective safety practices.
- Liaise with emergency services, conduct drills, and manage emergency response plans to ensure readiness and compliance.
- Develop and manage the environmental strategy, including permit management, risk assessments, and product life cycle assessments.
- Report on department performance, risks, and opportunities to senior management, ensuring clear communication and effective decision-making.
- Proven HSE experience within a Chemical Manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- NEBOSH and IOSH certified.
- Experience in COSHH and risk assessments.
- Competitive salary of £45k-£50k (dependent on experience).
