Release and Transition Specialist

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum subjected to knowledge, skill and experience
Location Options: Hybrid - home based and Birmingham

The Role
We are looking for a Release and Transition Specialist who will take charge of orchestrating and overseeing the deployment and transition processes to ensure seamless integration into business operations throughout the service lifecycle.
This is a pivotal and innovative position where you will be responsible for establishing the release strategy, planning, scheduling, scoping, and resource allocation, ensuring that release goals align with both business and customer requirements. You will also be tasked with monitoring and reporting on release progress, quality, risks, and issues while managing third-party testing suppliers. Furthermore, you will oversee the Test Manager and Technical Change Managers to ensure the successful delivery of all technical changes.
Your responsibilities will include tracking releases through every phase of the software development lifecycle, collaborating with the Environment Manager to monitor releases across environments, and governing the scheduling and resolution of conflicts related to releases and the movement of development between environments. You will maintain the 60-day and 90-day environment release plans and execute the necessary activities to transition projects or changes to IT Operations teams.

What We Are Looking For
- 3-4 years of experience with ITIL Processes for Release, Change, and Configuration Management or Project Management.
- Proven ability to manage influential stakeholders across various functions and levels.
- Experience with DevOps or similar collaboration tools for release delivery.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle (Agile/Waterfall) and testing methodologies.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in managing testing partners.
