We are seeking a part-time Level 3 qualified Practitioner to join our Bright Horizons Harpenden Luton Road situated in Harpenden, Hertfordshire.

Our Bright Horizons Harpenden Day Nursery and Preschool is Ofsted rated 'Good', and is situated in Harpenden, just a short distance from the town centre with onsite parking available.

The nursery is set in a beautiful converted Victorian house with seven spacious rooms spread over three floors, including a 'must-see' log cabin nursery room. The nursery also benefits from a large outdoor play area which the children enjoy regularly

The nursery opening hours are 7:30am-6:00pm, Monday to Friday. For the part-time role we can be flexible to consider three or four days a week Monday to Thursday. A typical shift pattern would be 8:00am-4:30pm, 9:00am-5:30pm, 9:30am-6:00pm or similar.

What you'll be doing

  • Plan, create, implement and reflect on engaging activities, tailored to each of your key children, to encourage their development towards key milestones.
  • Develop and maintain strong parent/ carer partnerships
  • Promote and ensure child welfare, protection, health and safety and safeguarding
  • Work with colleagues to maintain a positive, happy and safe environment

What we're looking for

  • Full and Relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification (essential)
  • Previous experience working with children (ideally as a Nursery Nurse, Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Educator, or similar)
  • Passion for making learning fun and engaging for each child
  • Ability to build trust and strong working relationships with both colleagues and parents
  • Ability to use a variety of communication techniques with both children and adults
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and the wider legislative requirements for working with children
