About Quarriers

Quarriers is a pioneering organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals with epilepsy through innovative services and state-of-the-art facilities. Our modern center is equipped with advanced diagnostic technology, setting a new standard for epilepsy care in the UK.

Our facility features a 12-bed inpatient unit that offers flexible, patient-centered assessments for adults aged 16 and over. As a vital member of our team, catering staff play a crucial role in delivering a range of services while being mindful of the clinical care provided to our patients.

The Cook's position involves preparing wholesome meals for both patients and staff on duty, ensuring adherence to individual dietary requirements, NHS Food and Nutrition Standards, and principles of healthy eating at all times.

This role demands a confident individual capable of managing their own kitchen operations, including menu planning and food procurement. You will be responsible for ordering supplies, making budgeting skills essential.

This is a relief position, with hours determined by service requirements. Typical shifts are from 10am to 6pm, covering weekdays and weekends.

Key Qualifications

Compassion and empathy to support individuals in their daily lives. A proactive and enthusiastic approach. Strong problem-solving abilities focused on positive outcomes. Proficient cooking skills, utilizing fresh ingredients to prepare meals from scratch for patients and staff. Experience in Food Hygiene, with a willingness to pursue Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate Training. Knowledge of Health and Safety and infection control protocols. Familiarity with Environmental Health Standards. Effective communication skills to engage with patients and staff professionally, including active listening. Experience in menu planning, including seasonal reviews and budget management. Commitment to equal opportunities and continuous personal development. Supportive participation in staff meetings. Experience working with diverse groups and individuals. Understanding of confidentiality and sensitivity in working with vulnerable populations.
