Primary School SEND Teaching Assistant - Training Provided

We are working with a fantastic mainstream primary school in the South London area of Southwark to find a Teaching Assistant to support students with additional needs such as autism.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work with a team of LSA / Teaching assistants, working with students on a 1:1 and 1:2 basis. The school has amazing facilities with flowing open-plan classrooms, an outdoor classroom with a garden and chickens, and rooms dedicated to music with various instrument options for the students to learn.

The school also offers training in PECS and Makaton, alongside offering some of its staff teacher training, which makes this an amazing opportunity for those considering a career in teaching.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting students with additional needs in a mainstream primary school setting
  • Working with a team of Teaching Assistants to provide individualized support to students
  • Assisting with lesson planning and delivery
  • Providing feedback to teachers on student progress
