Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and qualified Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team at Caradoc Surgery. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for performing venipuncture, obtaining patient consent, and maintaining accurate patient records.
Main Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture as requested by the clinical team to the entitled patient population.
- Obtain patient consent for the collection of a blood sample.
- Maintain accurate patient records on internal systems.
- Correctly label, package, and store samples.
- Effectively use the specimen log, resolving any discrepancies.
- Ensure samples are sent to the laboratory in a timely manner.
- Maintain an effective liaison with the laboratory staff.
- Work collaboratively with the nursing team, seeking guidance when necessary for patient-related matters.

- Experience of working within a healthcare setting.
- Experience of working within primary care.
- Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure.
- Ability to record accurate clinical notes.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience of working with the general public.
- Strong IT skills.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
