Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trusts is seeking to enhance its surgical teams across various specialties. We are looking for a dedicated Band 5 Surgical Care Specialist to join our exceptional theatre staff.
This role is ideal for a proactive and innovative individual who is committed to personal and professional growth, as well as the advancement of our services.
You will become part of a vibrant and dynamic group of healthcare professionals, including nurses and Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs), who are dedicated to delivering exemplary perioperative care. Each day presents unique challenges and rewards, and we emphasize teamwork, continuous learning, and forward-thinking practices.
Important Note: The successful candidate may be required to work across different sites within our Theatre Complex, subject to agreement with the Specialty Team Leader.
Key Responsibilities

You are expected to uphold high standards of service, prioritizing patient safety and quality. Demonstrating effective collaboration and adhering to evidence-based practices is essential.
We encourage multi-skilling and are looking for a motivated Practitioner eager to expand their expertise in either anaesthetic support or surgical scrub assistance.
A flexible approach to work is necessary, as is the ability to function effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
About Our Organization
All candidates must possess registration with their relevant professional regulatory body and adhere to their professional code of conduct. Proof of ongoing registration will be required. A recognized anaesthetic qualification is also mandatory.
Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trusts provides excellent support for a diverse array of students and learners. The successful candidate should either hold or be willing to pursue a level three mentorship qualification.
The role requires flexibility in working hours, including a commitment to Bank Holiday and out-of-hours on-call responsibilities.
