Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of rail grinding and maintenance operations. This will involve driving and operating various types of rail grinding machines, as well as other OTM plant, to ensure the smooth operation of rail services.

Key Responsibilities

* Drive and operate rail grinding machines and other OTM plant safely and effectively
* Report any machine defects or issues to the Grinding Supervisor and/or Maintenance Supervisor
* Work safely and effectively to Colas Rail Services Operations procedures
* Assist in maintaining quality systems and stabling database
* Undertake route learning and refreshing as required
* Drive all other OTM's such as Rail Milling Machine and Tampers

SHEQ Responsibilities

* Work to applicable Safety Plans and Method Statements
* Comply with Section 7 of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
* Close Calls and safety conversations submitted as per procedure

Competencies Required

* Ability to drive all types of rail grinding machines and other OTM plant
* Driving Licence
* PTS
* Fire Training
* Emergency First Aid
* Driver Mentor
* Trainer / Assessor Qualification
