Special Education Teacher for Students with Emotional and Behavioral Disorders

Job Summary:
The Danbury Public Schools is seeking a highly qualified Special Education Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with emotional and behavioral disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of students with emotional and behavioral disorders.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in a variety of settings, including classrooms and small group settings.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and other support staff to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to student support.
- Use data-driven instruction and assessment to inform teaching practices and improve student outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to ensure a collaborative approach to student support.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in special education.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
- Connecticut State certification with appropriate endorsement(s) (065, 165).
- Experience working with students with emotional and behavioral disorders preferred.
