Job Title: Special Education Teacher

We are seeking an experienced or newly qualified Special Education Teacher to join our successful and forward-thinking school. Our school is a specialist school that provides education and care for children and young people between the age of 4 and 19 years.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Severe Learning Disabilities (SLD). You will have the opportunity to work in an enthusiastic and supportive phase that challenges students to be as independent as possible in their learning and communication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach students with ASD and SLD using specific techniques such as PECS and Makaton
  • Apply TEACCH principles to support students' learning and communication
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching team to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Provide support and guidance to students to help them achieve their full potential
