ePropelled operates on three continents, with a focus in the US on industrial and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) motors. In India, we concentrate on the design and manufacturing of motors for light electric vehicles.
In the UK, our emphasis is on 400V and 800V traction motors.
Our eDTS technology represents a breakthrough in automotive traction motors, promising substantial efficiency gains for high-volume electric vehicles.
Position Summary

In this role, you will be tasked with evaluating cost, timing, and performance objectives to deliver solutions for the motor inverter and 'switching matrix' essential for controlling eDTS motors.

As a senior engineer, you will oversee the technical execution of your projects.
You will take ownership of your responsibilities and strive to resolve challenges utilizing your expertise. Close collaboration with the Programme Manager is expected, along with timely escalation of issues when necessary.

Your understanding of power electronics will encompass both software and hardware aspects, driven by a commitment to advancing future mobility.

Key Responsibilities

To excel in this role, you will:
− Possess a robust understanding of motor controllers and drives
− Develop motor control software design concepts aligned with system requirements
− Have experience in software architecture design, component identification, and interface definition
− Implement embedded software for power electronics components, including embedded code, APIs, and user interfaces
− Create unit, integration, and system-level test specifications and conduct testing of embedded software as per these specifications
− Perform simulations for power electronics devices and comprehend their limitations
− Generate electronic schematics for power electronics components (e.g., SMPS, DC-DC converters, motor inverters, onboard chargers)
− Assist in PCB design and layout processes
− Understand the design implications related to EMC performance
− Maintain a goal-oriented approach regarding time, cost, and functional performance
− Draft and interpret specifications and requirements
− Ensure compliance with requirements documentation
− Contribute to the development and adherence to project plans
− Support product documentation efforts (e.g., design notes, bills of materials, user manuals)
− Grasp the implications of ISO26262
− Be knowledgeable about ASIL ratings and Functional Safety
− Communicate effectively with the Programme Management team, Engineering Manager, and clients
− Recognize the significance of testing, quality assurance, and release processes, ensuring strict compliance at all times
− Exhibit a self-driven approach to problem-solving

QualificationsPreferred Skills

− Expertise in designing for high voltages and currents
− Experience with electric vehicle systems
− Proficiency in designing motor control inverters and control circuits for power electronics
− Familiarity with lab test equipment and instrumentation
− Proficient in electronic CAD software (e.g., Altium, Eagle)
− Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, LabVIEW, or similar tools
− Knowledge of DFMEA
− Proficient in embedded C programming
− Experience mentoring junior engineers

Educational Background

− Degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field.
− At least five years of professional experience in embedded electronics design or power electronics.
