We are seeking experienced professionals to join our team of Independent Sexual Violence Advocates (ISVAs) at the West London Rape Crisis Centre. As an ISVA, you will provide high-quality, specialist support to women in London who have experienced any form of sexual violence and are engaging with the criminal justice system.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct and dedicated advocacy support to women, ensuring their needs are met and they have access to the services they require.
- Work within a multi-agency framework, collaborating with other professionals to ensure a comprehensive and effective support network.
- Support women to access justice and navigate the criminal justice process, from report to court and post-trial as necessary.
- Offer effective short-term and longer-term support and interventions, tailored to the individual needs of each woman.
- Work from a multidisciplinary approach, advocating for survivors to access a range of services, including forensic medical examination, therapeutic support, sexual health, housing, and mental health services.
- Experience of working within a multi-agency framework to provide direct and dedicated advocacy support to women.
- Proven ability to support women to access the advocacy, support, and services they need, including routes to accessing justice.
- Passion for supporting survivors of sexual violence and abuse, with a commitment to working in a multi-cultural feminist environment.
- Experience of working with women and girls from diverse backgrounds, including those from Black, Minority, and Global Majority communities.
- Ability to work with women and girls with mental health presentations, including high-risk and multiple needs.
- A dynamic and supportive work environment, committed to empowering women and girls.
