Senior Laboratory Technician - R&D

Are you looking for a temporary role that allows you to collaborate with a dynamic team of Scientists at a leading Research Centre? If you possess the skills to support a busy research environment, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist a diverse team of research Scientists with various laboratory tasks within the Physical Sciences research facility.
- Specific duties include: Calibrating and maintaining laboratory instruments, coordinating with engineers for equipment malfunctions.
- Oversee health and safety protocols, including conducting risk assessments, approving COSHH documentation, and aiding research staff in accessing necessary health and safety information.
- Manage the relocation of laboratory equipment across different areas of the facility.
- Handle the movement and storage of chemicals in compliance with hazardous material regulations.
- Collaborate with site facilities personnel to plan and execute mandatory inspections of equipment and laboratory spaces.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Degree in a Physical Science, preferably in Chemistry or a related field.
- Proficient in utilizing techniques such as FTIR, Mass Spectrometry, and other laboratory systems including glove boxes and gas handling equipment.
- Knowledgeable about statutory inspections for pressure systems, LEV, and lifting equipment.
- Demonstrated experience in upholding rigorous health and safety standards in a laboratory setting.
- Adept at troubleshooting various laboratory instruments.
