Project Engineer Job Description

GMP Recruitment is proud to partner with a leading organisation in the process industry, specialising in the design, manufacture, and installation of process plant and equipment for bulk solid materials.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our client's Kidderminster site, responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and managing projects from inception to completion.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage and control orders from customers, including supply-only and turnkey contracts, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Administer site project work areas, maintaining a controlled and efficient environment.
  • Act on verbal or written instructions from the Operations department, relating to order processing, labour allocation, and forward orders.
  • Design and engineer contracts, preparing details for manufacture and installation in line with customer expectations.
  • Conduct site visits, collect information, and specifications, and produce Method Statements and risk assessments.
  • Utilise CAD software to design and produce information for manufacturing purposes.
  • Implement contract management policies and procedures to achieve and exceed Gross Margin Profit targets.
  • Adhere to and implement Quality procedures involved in process and on-site manufacture.
Requirements
  • Proven project and technical experience in material handling, industrial construction, or similar site engineering.
  • Project and Technical Engineer or equivalent experience from an engineering fabrication company in the West Midlands, ideally with experience of fitting/servicing equipment.
  • Mechanical understanding and solid manufacturing industry knowledge, enabling effective communication with staff and customers.
