Position Overview: This is a permanent role based within a secondary school, offering a unique opportunity to work in an educational setting with benefits such as generous holiday allowances and a balanced work schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in overseeing the entire catering service, ensuring the delivery of nutritious and high-quality meals that adhere to established Nutritional Standards.
- Support in the planning, preparation, and presentation of food, complying with Food Safety Regulations and Health & Safety legislation.
- Contribute to the daily menu planning, accommodating special dietary needs and managing stock orders accordingly.
- Uphold the institution's reputation for exceptional food quality and service.
- Assist the Catering Manager in maintaining inventory levels and completing stock returns punctually.
- Act as a deputy for the Catering Manager during their absence.
- Organize and supervise the culinary team and support staff, addressing any operational issues that may arise.
- Ensure cleanliness of all kitchenware and catering equipment.
- Help establish and uphold cleaning protocols, ensuring compliance with HACCP, Health and Safety policies, and COSHH Regulations.
- Adhere to the institution's Child Safeguarding Procedures, maintaining regular communication regarding any safeguarding concerns.
Work Schedule: This is a part-time position, with working hours from 26.45am to 2pm, Monday to Friday, during term time only, plus additional days as required.
Qualifications:
- Level 3 Food Hygiene certification.
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and presentation that meets quality and safety standards.
- Experience in catering for large groups.
