About the Conflicts Resolution Group (CRG)

The Conflicts Resolution Group (CRG) plays a vital role in safeguarding Goldman Sachs' reputation and client relationships. We meticulously evaluate a wide range of the firm's activities, including advisory services, financing, principal investing, lending, and other ventures. Our mission is to identify, assess, and manage potential conflicts of interest arising from new and existing engagements, positions, and responsibilities.

CRG acts as a critical gatekeeper, ensuring that the firm can pursue business opportunities while upholding the highest ethical standards. We collaborate with various business units to determine whether revenue-generating activities can proceed, subject to further review by CRG and other control functions. We also impose limitations or conditions on transactions to mitigate risks and protect client confidentiality.

Your Role as a Conflicts Analyst

As a Conflicts Analyst, you will contribute to this essential function by:

  • Conducting thorough reviews of new business opportunities, collaborating with teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of information.
  • Performing due diligence on potential conflicts, considering the firm's current and historical assignments, positions, economic exposures, and interactions with relevant parties.
  • Identifying potential issues and reporting findings to the CRG team.
  • Monitoring and updating the status of previously cleared opportunities using public sources, deal teams, and internal reporting tools.
  • Documenting the details of each conflict check in the CRG's proprietary database.

Qualifications

We seek candidates with:

  • 1-3 years of experience in the financial or legal sectors, ideally supporting Investment Banking or Corporate Finance.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a high sense of urgency.
  • Proven ability to process and analyze large volumes of information effectively.
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to exercise discretion when handling highly confidential situations and sensitive information.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact confidently with professionals at various levels within the firm.
  • A collaborative spirit and the ability to work seamlessly as part of a global team.
