Job Description

Job Title: Health, Safety and Environment Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety and Environment Manager to join our team at Winsearch. As a leading recruitment agency, we specialize in placing professionals in various industries, including Engineering & Manufacturing, Food & Drinks, Pharmaceutical, Supply Chain & Procurement, and Professional Services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with government and legal regulations through policy enforcement or adherence to legal guidelines.
  • Develop and implement effective health, safety, and environmental management systems.
  • Conduct risk assessments, including COSHH, and manage the sites COSHH Assessment process.
  • Lead scenario training and emergency drills, and coordinate and lead the site safety committee activities.
  • Manage the sites environmental permit and prepare any correspondence to the regulator or applications for variations that may be required.
  • Undertake environmental risk assessments, including source-pathway-receptor trio assessment as per CDOIF methodology.
  • Develop and implement regulations under the health and safety at work act 1974 safety programs.
  • Coordinate and lead the site safety committee activities.
  • Liaise with all interested parties, enforcing competent authorities on HSE matters, the Emergency Services, to arrange regular Emergency Drills.
  • Act as Fire Officer for the site, and to ensure site fire risk assessments are up to date and necessary control measures are implemented, monitored and reviewed.
  • Report and communicate department performance, risk and opportunity to senior management.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a Health, Safety and Environment Manager or in a related field.
  • Knowledge of 45001 & 14001, and experience of a COMAH site.
  • Hold a NEBOSH Level 3 certificate and IOSH Managing Safely.
  • Ability to lead scenario training and emergency drills.
  • Knowledge of environmental risk assessments, including source-pathway-receptor trio assessment as per CDOIF methodology.
  • Ability to develop and implement regulations under the health and safety at work act 1974 safety programs.
