Machine Operator

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Machine Minder to join our team at Pilgrim's Europe. As a Machine Minder, you will be responsible for the set up and effective operation of the process machinery in order to achieve production targets and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Set up machinery ready for production, making a thorough check of all process machinery and ensuring all guards are in place and functioning correctly.
- Ensure that hygiene and health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Monitor machinery to ensure it is running correctly and safely during production, identifying and reporting any mechanical faults or problems immediately to the Department Manager.
- Monitor the quality of the product and liaise with QA when appropriate.
- Calculate throughputs and ensure correct throughput is obtained for the product being run.
- Minimize wastage of product or materials by ensuring machinery is set up properly and baskets/dolavs are positioned appropriately along the line.
- Undertake cleaning duties of machinery on a daily basis.
- Pass on relevant information and documentation concerning the line to the incoming shift at shift changeover.
- Ensure all machinery is empty of product and remove it to designated storage areas at the end of production.
- Maintain all paperwork and ensure all relevant information/documentation concerning the machinery is passed to the oncoming shift.
- Shut down all designated process machinery before leaving the building in the event of a fire alarm.
