About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled GitOps Engineering Manager to join our team at Canonical. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading our devops engineers in the APAC timezone and driving the development of our cloud-native operations capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a high-performance team of devops engineers in the APAC timezone, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure the successful delivery of our cloud-native operations services.
  • Represent the IS team to stakeholders, customers, and internal teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to drive business outcomes.
  • Organize, coordinate, and drive internal projects, leveraging your technical expertise and leadership skills to deliver high-quality results.
  • Mentor engineers to improve their skills, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Identify and measure team health indicators, ensuring the well-being and productivity of your team.
  • Implement structured engineering and operations processes, ensuring consistency and efficiency in our cloud-native operations services.
  • Ensure proper team focus on priorities, milestones, and deliverables, driving business outcomes and customer satisfaction.
  • Work to meet service level agreements with customer deployments around the globe, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
Requirements
  • Drive and a track record of going above-and-beyond expectations, with a strong passion for cloud-native operations and devops.
  • Proven experience of software delivery using infrastructure as code, with a strong understanding of cloud topologies and technologies.
  • Proven experience managing devops teams for SAAS or similar offerings, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and business outcomes.
  • Understanding of testing methodologies and maintainable code quality, with a strong emphasis on continuous improvement.
  • Technical aptitude for understanding complex distributed systems, with a strong focus on cloud-native operations and devops.
  • Experience with cloud topologies and technologies, with a strong understanding of Kubernetes and containerization.
  • Ability to travel twice a year, for company events up to two weeks long, with a strong focus on collaboration and team building.
  • An exceptional academic track record from both high school and university, with a strong emphasis on continuous learning and professional growth.
