Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as a Security Manager at the Animal and Plant Health Agency. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Security Incident Management and Recovery activities, ensuring timely and effective response to security breaches.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on physical and counter-terrorist security matters, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Conduct physical security audits, risk assessments, and vulnerability evaluations to identify and mitigate potential threats.
  • Develop and implement security contingency plans, ensuring they are reviewed, tested, and exercised regularly.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement effective security risk management strategies.
  • Manage and maintain security systems, protocols, and procedures, ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant with industry standards.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff, ensuring they are aware of and comply with security policies and procedures.
  • Chair the Weybridge Security Working Group, ensuring timely resolution of actions and escalations.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in physical security, risk management, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of leading security incident management and recovery activities.
  • Expert knowledge of physical security and risk management concepts, including threat identification, risk assessment, and vulnerability evaluation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to analyze complex information and provide expert advice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Valid Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) security clearance, with ability to obtain SC clearance or higher as required.
