Role Responsibilities

This position is ideal for individuals who excel in managing and nurturing a team while building relationships and providing a comprehensive service to clients to identify the appropriate Insurance solutions for their requirements. The role will involve working with both commercial and personal lines clients.

The Insurance Team Supervisor will strive to meet established company forecasts, plans, targets, and budgets for the growth of both existing and new clients while leading and developing the team to achieve the company's strategic goals. This includes offering guidance and mentorship as needed. Additionally, you will review, refine, and enhance processes and procedures as necessary. Leading by example, you will ensure that both you and your team comply with company policies and protocols.

Key Duties

In collaboration with the Broking Manager, you will set your own objectives while focusing on the following tasks:

  • Achieve annual targets, plans, and budgets for your sales area, ensuring precision in handling new business, renewals, mid-term adjustments, inquiries, and premium financing arrangements.
  • Actively seek potential new clients, maintain a high standard of customer service, secure renewal business, promote in-house premium finance, and manage complaints in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Assess personal and team performance against objectives, forecasts, plans, targets, and budgets, providing regular feedback to the Broking Manager.
  • Conduct appraisals and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee daily team operations, including monitoring team members' leave and absences, and prepare for and participate in disciplinary and grievance meetings alongside HR.
  • Offer coaching, mentoring, professional advice, and support to team members as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements, conducting regular file audits.

Required Experience

It is essential to possess extensive experience in insurance broking, as you will be providing a complete commercial and personal lines experience to existing clients. Previous experience in a leadership or people management role would be advantageous.

You should also have a solid understanding of:

  • Industrial processes, security protocols, Health & Safety regulations, and risk management techniques.
  • FCA Regulations pertaining to Commercial and Personal lines clients.
  • FCA Regulations regarding Client Money, Treating Customers Fairly, Complaints regulations, and Data Protection Act.
  • Credit management procedures.
