We are seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Lawyer to join our diverse and busy legal team at Northumberland County Council. The successful candidate will be part of the Regulation Team, one of three teams within legal services, and will be responsible for advising on housing matters, particularly the newly designated selective licensing scheme and enforcement around this scheme.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the regulatory framework and legislation around empty homes, as well as advocacy experience in the relevant courts and tribunals. General experience in criminal and civil litigation would also be beneficial, as there may be opportunities to undertake other areas of work.

The working arrangements are flexible, including the opportunity to work predominantly from home. We are looking for a qualified solicitor or barrister or fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives who holds a current practicing certificate.
